The real trick is to maintain the illusion that there is a left or a right and that there is a democratic choice to be made between ideological standpoints.
In truth whether one chooses to support a system bias based on social or individual primacy the system itself does not change.
The problems with the system are not necessarily political but tend towards the structural; overconsumption, overpopulation, species depletion, declining EROEI, over competition… etcetera.
The political solution to these natural resource problems trend more and more towards the “hope for a magical tech fix” so that no one has to actually change anything.
The so-called right sees less problem promising more fake reality.
